Privacy Policy

Effective July 13, 2026  |  Last Updated September 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how AutoKlean collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information in connection with its auto detailing services and websites. Please review it carefully to understand our practices regarding your information.

1. Introduction and Scope

AutoKlean ("AutoKlean," "we," "us," or "our") provides mobile and drop-off auto detailing services within the San Francisco Bay Area, California. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to personal information we collect through our websites (autoklean.co and book.autoklean.co), our online booking system, and our provision of detailing services. By accessing our websites, submitting a booking request, or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide. When you request a quote, book an appointment, leave feedback, or otherwise communicate with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers and contact details, including your name, email address, and telephone number;
  • Location information, meaning the service address at which detailing is to be performed;
  • Vehicle information, including the year, make, model, size, and condition of your vehicle, together with any photographs you choose to upload;
  • Appointment details and any notes or instructions you provide about your vehicle;
  • Marketing attribution information, such as how you heard about us;
  • Your communication preferences, including whether you have agreed to receive text messages from us; and
  • Feedback you gave through the review page we ran until September 2026, which we keep with our booking records, and your interest in recurring service if you join our subscription list.

2.2 Payment. We accept cash and Zelle, paid in person when the service is complete. We do not collect or store payment card numbers through our websites. If you pay by Zelle, we receive the name and the email address or phone number associated with your Zelle account, which we use only to match your payment to your booking.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically. When you visit our websites, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and settings, device information, the pages you view, and the referring website or advertisement, through cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 5.

2.4 Information Stored in Your Browser. While you fill out the booking form, your progress is saved in your browser's local storage so that reloading the page does not lose your work. That draft stays on your device, is not sent to us until you press Book now, and is cleared when your booking is submitted. You can clear it at any time from your browser's settings.

2.5 Photographs We Take. In the course of performing the service we photograph your vehicle: normally a walkaround before we begin, and sometimes the finished result. These are taken by us rather than provided by you. We store each photograph together with the date and time it was taken and the appointment and vehicle it relates to, and we use them for quality control, to record the condition of your vehicle when we arrived, and to establish or respond to any claim of damage. Section 12 of our Terms of Service separately governs our use of photographs to promote our business, including our practice of obscuring license plates and identifying details and your right to opt out. These photographs are re-encoded before they are stored, which removes the camera metadata a phone attaches, including any GPS location tag. You may ask us to delete photographs of your vehicle at any time using the contact details in Section 11.

2.6 Photographs You Upload. Photographs you attach to a booking are stored by our hosting provider at links that are not published anywhere; anyone who has the exact link can open the photograph, and you may ask us to delete it at any time. Before a photograph is stored, the camera metadata a phone attaches to it is removed, including any GPS location tag.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following business purposes:

  • To schedule, confirm, perform, and follow up on your detailing appointments;
  • To communicate with you regarding bookings, quotes, service updates, and customer support inquiries;
  • To record and match payments for services rendered;
  • To send appointment reminders, review requests, and occasional messages about your vehicle's next detail, from which you may opt out at any time;
  • To send text messages only where you have agreed to receive them — you can withdraw that consent at any time by replying STOP;
  • To operate, maintain, evaluate, and improve our websites and services;
  • To measure the effectiveness of, and improve, our advertising, including determining which advertisements result in bookings; and
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights.

4. How We Disclose Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to operate our business, to the following categories of recipients:

  • Service Providers. Companies that host our websites, store our data, and deliver our messages on our behalf. Currently these are Vercel (website hosting, booking storage, and uploaded photos), Supabase (our customer records), and Resend (email delivery). Each is authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us. If we begin sending text messages through a messaging provider, we will add it to this list;
  • Advertising and Analytics Providers. Google, which provides the analytics and advertising-measurement tools described in Section 5; and
  • Legal and Protective Disclosures. Governmental authorities or other parties where required by applicable law, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of AutoKlean, our customers, or others.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, all set by Google, to understand how visitors find and use our websites and to measure whether our advertising leads to bookings. Google Analytics tells us which pages visitors use and how they arrived. Google Ads conversion tracking tells us when a booking follows a click on one of our advertisements. We have configured Google's advertising tag for measurement only: it is not used to build advertising audiences or to personalize the advertisements you see elsewhere.

We may additionally use Google's enhanced conversions feature, under which a hashed (irreversibly scrambled) form of the email address you gave us at booking is sent to Google so that a conversion can be matched to our advertising more accurately. It is used only for measurement.

Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie, what it does, and how long it lasts.

Most web browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. You may opt out of Google Analytics measurement by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can manage Google's advertising settings at adssettings.google.com.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to the websites you visit. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for such a signal to switch off, and our websites do not change their behavior in response to it. Google's own tools may honor these signals independently.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide our services, maintain records of your appointments, comply with our legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Booking records form part of our business and tax records. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

7. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may be entitled to exercise the following rights under applicable California privacy law, subject to certain exceptions:

  • The right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose;
  • The right to access a copy of the personal information we maintain about you;
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • The right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you;
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising; and
  • The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of the foregoing rights.

To submit a request, please contact us using the information provided in Section 11. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our websites and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Policy from time to time. When we do so, we will revise the "Last Updated" date set forth above. Your continued use of our websites or services following the effective date of any revised Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
